Hi I’m Cheryl. I am an artist in Fife, Scotland and I paint for my own joy. If I can make people smile, well that’s a bonus.

I paint every day in acrylic or watercolour  . Right now I am teaching myself soft pastel painting.

I’m usually found walking around my home studio with paint in my hair or up a hill somewhere with my dog, which helps me think up new ideas and I love observing the world around me.

After playing around with different painting scenes and colour, I’ve developed a naive / folk art style which I’m most comfortable with. I didn’t go to art school so I don’t know the art “rules”, I just paint what’s in my heart at the time. I very rarely know what the painting is going to be until it’s created.

Coastal scenes, landscapes, trees, gardens, poppies, peacocks, pheasants, dancers, mothers, cityscapes, couple paintings & more, are some of my featured subjects .

I like to paint funny stories and celebrate life through art. Life is precious and there is treasure and little joys to be found everywhere.

It’s such a privilege to have people purchase my art to hang in their home. From my wee stalls over the years, and online, my art has now sold around the world. Thank you to everyone who has ever bought a painting from me.

After living away for 5 years in Australia and Guernsey, and Channel Islands, I’m happy to be home in Scotland, which is the best place in the World.

I am a big animal lover and I currently live in a small village in Fife with Obi the oversized puppy and 3 crazy cats in our tiny house of love.

My favourite things are walks with my dog in the countryside and hiking, but most of all, the wonderful people we meet along the way in this life.

Come say hi to me at the markets.
